Vivamus is a small, London-based chamber choir whose members are predominantly postgraduate students and young professionals. We enjoy singing a diverse and challenging range of repertoire from well-known classics to new works by living composers.
We rehearse weekly and aim to perform at least four times a year at venues in and around central London, as well as a long weekend at a UK cathedral most summers. We’ve performed a number of sell-out concerts in St Martin-in-the-Fields, sung the services at Lincoln Cathedral, and frequently perform at St James’, Piccadilly. We’ve also sung in St John’s, Smith Square with The London Mozart Players and with Emma Johnson.
We’re a friendly, informal group who love to welcome new members. Most – though not all – of us have previous experience such as singing in chapel choirs, university or college choirs, or other chamber choirs.
If you enjoy singing varied SATB music, come along for a couple of Thursday rehearsals to get to know us. After that, we ask you to do a simple audition to join formally. If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you!
Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at St Clement Danes, The Church of the RAF, on the Strand; in exceptional circumstances the rehearsal may be held elsewhere.
